The 2051 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series and the SIMBL's 2051 season and 47th season of history are in the books.

Congratulations to River City GM Anthony Keence as his Rascals made SIMBL history and became the third team in the league's 47-season history to win three consecutive SIMBL championships by defeating Cleveland GM Chip Orton's UL champion Brownies adding to their 2049 and 2050 SIMBL titles.  The 2049-2051 River City Rascals join the 2005-2007 San Diego Warewolves and the 2041-2043 Calgary Clippers as the only teams to 'three-peat' in league history.  River City became only the fourth team in SIMBL history (joining the 2005-2007 San Diego Warewolves, 2037-2038 Toronto Rush and 2041-2043 Calgary Clippers) to defend their title last season when they beat Toronto GM Eric Savard's Rush to win back-to-back SIMBL championships.

River City's sweep of Cleveland is their second sweep of the SIMBL CS in the past three seasons as they also swept Miami in the 2049 SIMBL CS.  The Rascals have gone 12-2 in the past three SIMBL CS tying the 2041-2043 Clippers for the best record in three consecutive SIMBL CS.  The 2005-2007 Warewolves went 12-7 in their three-peat run.  It's the 9th sweep in the SIMBL title series in the 47-season history of the league.

Congratulations to Chip on a great season and for advancing to his second SIMBL CS in the past four seasons as he als lost to GM Jeff Palin's Indianapolis Rams in the 2049 SIMBL SIMBL CS.  It was the long-time SIMBL GM's 5th trip to the SIMBL CS where he previously advanced the Hawaii Pineapples to the SIMBL title series in the 2029, 2030 and 2032 seasons as he led the Pineapples to the 2029 SIMBL championship back on real-life date March 24, 2013 for his first SIMBL title. Hawaii lost to the Whitby Battalion (now Montreal Mavericks) in the 2030 SIMBL Championship Series and also lost to Calgary in the 2032 SIMBL CS as Chip led his team to three SIMBL CS appearances in four seasons dating back 18 seasons ago.

River City LF Corey O'Neal, the 9th overall pick of the 2046 SIMBL Draft who was selected to his first All-Star Game this past season, was named the 2051 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series Most Valuable Player.

The 2051 SIMBL GM Awards ballots will be officially announced shortly.

Congratulations to all SIMBL GMs on another, our 47th, successful, competitive and fun season whether winning or losing.  The SIMBL New File Era (2019-current) now will roll into its' 34th season of history as the league enters its 48th season.

The 2052 off-season is now here and the final 2051 team financial reports and the new team finances (pre-arbitrations) have been announced in the file.  The official 2052 off-season SIM schedule will be announced shortly as 2052 team options, final contract extensions and arbitration offers are now due.

The SIMBL is having a league overlook with the SIMBL coronavirus crisis currently affecting everybody differently and the same at once and will, as usual, make decisions as a conglomerate as to how things already have and will unfold remain to be seen.  Of course, the league is a recreational outlet that is a blip to our real-life obligations and we will all approach such bridges as a league together through these times as we've always have together.  Everybody please stay safe and we'll always be here through and/or after things get situated better with everybody individually and as a group.
