2048 SIMBL GM OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Long-time Sacramento Giants GM Jason Gregory was voted the 2048 SIMBL GM Of The Year by his league peers.

Jason has been a SIMBL GM for nearly ten-real life years joining the league on October 1, 2009 during the 2016 season.

Jason had a historic season as a SIMBL GM in several ways.

He turned around his team from the previous season +29 games which is the second-largest (33 games by former Birmingham Blue Sox GM Jason DeMarco in 2015 is the SIMBL record) one-season improvement in the SIMBL's 44-season history.  The Giants won their first divisional title and made the postseason since the 2044 season and completed quite a quick rebuild turnaround after finishing with the SIMBL's worst record and collecting the #1 overall pick in the 2047 and 2048 SIMBL Drafts.

Jason also became the first GM in league history to completes a one-season worst-to-first turnaround three times in his SIMBL career.

Jason wins the award for the third time which ties him for second-place in times winning the award for the SIMBL's top seasonal GM.

Cleveland Brownies and 2048 runner-up GM Chris Schubert came in second in the voting while last season's SIMBL GM Of The Year, Indianapolis Rams and 2048 SIMBL champion GM Jeff Palin came in third.

2048 UNION LEAGUE SLUGGER OF THE YEAR MVP AWARD:

Ann Arbor Wolverines

Franklyn Borba of the Ann Arbor Wolverines proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Union League Daryl Ryles Slugger Of The Year MVP Award.

Borba hit for a .317 average while collecting 190 hits, 36 doubles, 1 triple, 47 home runs, 129 RBIs and scoring 102 times.

Trevor Lane of the Calgary Clippers finished second in voting, while Bernard Ortiz of the Montreal Mavericks finished third.

2048 SYNDICATE LEAGUE SLUGGER OF THE YEAR MVP AWARD:

SS Kei Morita
Rochester Roosters

He may have less experience than most of his SIM Baseball League peers, but that didn't slow Kei Morita down at all in 2048.

At the age of 24, the Rochester shortstop has been named the winner of the Syndicate League Daryl Ryles Slugger Of The Year MVP Award.

He had a .349 batting average and a .456 on-base percentage this year. In 126 games he piled up 174 hits, 34 doubles, 6 triples, 13 home runs, 54 RBIs and 109 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

Matthew Morraco of the Rochester Roosters finished second in voting, while Michael Lamb of the St. Petersburg Admirals finished third.

2048 UNION LEAGUE HURLER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

SP Marc Jackson
Texas Roadrunners

The Texas Roadrunners have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.

It's Marc Jackson, this year's Union League Bobby Grimes Hurler Of The Year Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Jackson compiled a 17-6 record in 30 starts, tallied 228 strikeouts in 218.2 innings and recorded a 1.98 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .219 batting average against him.

Eddie Batista of the Bend Bandits finished second in voting, while Ricky Stanley of the Cleveland Brownies finished third.

2048 SYNDICATE LEAGUE HURLER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

SP Ugo Del Costello
Indianapolis Rams

Ugo Del Costello of the Indianapolis Rams has been selected the premier pitcher in the Syndicate League and will receive the Bobby Grimes Hurler Of The Year Award for 2048.

The top vote-getter completed the year with a 16-9 record. He started 32 times, threw 223.1 innings, chalked up 222 strikeouts and 33 walks, limited hitters to a .224 batting average and posted an impressive 2.90 ERA.

Burton Bailey of the Las Vegas Hustlers finished second in voting, while Bo Ford of the River City Rascals finished third.

2048 UNION LEAGUE MIDDLE RELIEVER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

RP Roy Christmas
Pittsburgh Aviators

At the young age of only 26, Roy Christmas has been named the Union League Bob Detty Middle Reliever Of The Year Award winner for 2048.

The future appears bright for the Pittsburgh Aviators relief ace, who captured the award with 5 saves in 40 relief appearances, 48 strikeouts in 45 innings and a record of 0-3 to go with his 2.20 ERA.

Victor Silva of the Westbury Cannons finished second in voting, while Michael Black of the Oregon Pioneers finished third.

2048 SYNDICATE LEAGUE MIDDLE RELIEVER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

RP Pancho Tovar
Indianapolis Rams

2048 was a year to remember for Pancho Tovar.

The Indianapolis Rams reliever was the owner of a 1.70 ERA this season over 95.1 innings of work. He made 51 relief appearances and had no saves, 108 strikeouts, 22 walks and a record of 9 wins and no losses.

He's also now got some hardware, as the 27-year-old has been named the Syndicate League Bob Detty Middle Reliever Of The Year Award winner.

"It's something I can tell my grandchildren some day, pretty special," he said.

2048 UNION LEAGUE FIREMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

CL Daniel Chase
New York Enforcers

New York's 35 year-old closer Daniel Chase was nearly unhittable this past season and as such wins the 2048 UL Fireman Of The Year Award winning the award for the second time in his career to add to his 2040 UL Fireman Of The Year Award on his trophy mantle.

The thirteen-year SIMBL veteran made 68 appearances earning a UL-leading 41 saves with an 89.1% save percentage added to a 2.88 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP.  Hunter blew five saves this past season in 46 save opportunities.

Calgary's Kade Ratzlaff finished second in the voting garnering all of the remaining votes cast.

2048 SYNDICATE LEAGUE FIREMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

CL Kelly Martin
Las Vegas Hustlers

Las Vegas closer Kelly Martin had a season to remember and was voted the 2048 SL Fireman Of The Year.

The 39 year-old wins the award in his first full season as a SIMBL closer after a 16-season career as a starter in which he won 183 games after being drafted second overall by the Toronto Rush in the 2028 SIMBL Draft.

The Cleveland,Ohio native made 75 appearances pitching 80.1 innings, with a SIMBL-leading 47 saves and a 3.14 ERA and 1.24 WHIP.  His save rate was 94.0% and led the SIMBL this past season. "Kidney" blew only 3 saves in 53 save chances this past season.

Chicago's Robert Eberly finished second in the voting for the second consecutive season while Indianapolis' Jeffrey Johnson also tied for a distant second-place in the balloting.

2048 UNION LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD:

SS Chris Lueras
Pittsburgh Aviators

The Union League's Chris Cota Rookie Of The Year Award winner for 2048 is Chris Lueras, the 24-year-old shortstop for the Pittsburgh Aviators.

He won the award by hitting .263 and collecting 172 hits, 34 home runs, 87 RBIs and 64 walks with 101 runs scored and a .343 on-base percentage.

Jorge Avila of the Oregon Pioneers finished second in voting, while Scott Wasko of the Montreal Mavericks finished third.

2048 SYNDICATE LEAGUE FIREMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

SS Michael Cunningham
Sacramento Giants

He's the toast of the town in Sacramento -- the brand-new 2048 Syndicate League Chris Cota Rookie Of The Year Award winner -- shortstop Michael Cunningham.

In his debut season he compiled some good stats, hitting .279, batting in 67 runs and scoring 81 times, while playing in 126 games. The 24-year-old newcomer also had 22 doubles, 5 triples and 23 home runs.
