2022 SIMBL LDS BOX SCORES & GAME LOGS

AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR

It's Dallas vs. Calgary & Hollywood vs. Boston In 2022 SIMBL LCS

2022 SIMBL LDS:
DALLAS 4 WHITBY 0
CALGARY 4 BEND 3
HOLLYWOOD 4 LAS VEGAS 0
BOSTON 4 SAN DIEGO 3

Boston Revolution players celebrate an upset 2022 SLDS clinching 7-2 win on the road against San Diego in Game Seven of a grueling series between the Revolution and Warewolves.  Boston avenges a seven-game series loss to San Diego in last season's SLCS and face the SL Wildcard Hollywood Bounty Hunters in the 2022 SLCS.  Hollywood, the 2020 SIMBL Champions, will attempt to make their second trip to the SIMBL CS in three seasons while Boston will try to make the first appearance in the SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series in franchise history.

It was two four-game sweeps and two grueling full seven-game series in the 2022 SIMBL LDS.

Dallas GM Robert Don's defending UL Champion and UL Wildcard Texans advance to their second consecutive ULCS appearance by sweeping the UL East Champion Whitby Battalion of GM John Callahan.

It will be a rematch of division rivals from last season's ULCS as the Texans face UL Central foe Calgary of Clippers GM Christian DeMarco. The Clippers used a four-run bottom of the 8th inning rally in 2022 ULDS Game Seven to outlast the Bend Bandits of GM Ted Williams in a series full of classic pitching duels.  The Clippers make their fifth consecutive trip to the ULCS, seventh in the past ten seasons and the ninth in franchise history where they are 4-4.  Wildcard Dallas took out #1 seed Calgary in seven games last season to advance to their first SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship where they succumbed to San Diego in six games.  The Texans attempt to make the second trip to the SIMBL CS in franchise history while the Clippers try to make the fifth appearance in the title series in franchise history.

Hollywood GM Rodney Baylor's SL Wildcard Bounty Hunters swept GM Carl Hannah's SL Central Champion Las Vegas Hustlers in another series dominated by pitching duels and close scores.  The SL Wildcard 'Hunters make the fourth SLCS appearance in franchise history.

The Bounty Hunters will face Boston GM Dennis Walter's SL East Champion Revolution who make their second consecutive SLCS appearance avenging last season's loss to San Diego in a seven-game SLCS.  Boston upset GM Paul Ware's defending SIMBL Champion San Diego Warewolves in seven-games including scoring a SIMBL postseason-record ten runs in the bottom of the 7th inning in Game Five all with two outs.  It's the second overall appearance in the SLCS in franchise history for Boston.

After going the full seven games in their respective LDS, Calgary and Boston have the disadvantage of facing the fully-rested pitching staffs of Dallas and Hollywood. In Game One of the ULCS, Dallas is scheduled to throw Tom Clifton against Calgary's Craig Byrd.  In Game One of the SLCS, Hollywood's Bobby Bruno is slated to face Boston's Carlos Ramirez.

Dallas 3B Jesus Montoya, Calgary 1B Colt McAlister, Hollywood 2B Alberto Alvarez and Boston CF Gregory Sheppard were named 2022 SIMBL LDS MVPs.

2022 SIMBL LCS Games 1-3 SIM will be run on Wednesday July 11, 2012 with exports due at 1 PM EDT and 11 AM PDT.

Good luck to all remaining postseason GMs in their quest for the ever-elusive SIMBL Coveted Cup.

Calgary's 22 year-old speed king Matthew Brown (above right) led the SIMBL in stolen bases for the third year out of the past four seasons this season but hit a solo walk-off home run off Bend reliever Bill Oliver in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Clippers a 2-1 win in Game Two of the 2022 ULDS helping them rebound from a Game One loss at home to the Bandits and gave them momentum to a 2-1 series lead.  The series has featured all pitchers duels thus far with scores of 2-1, 2-1 and 3-2 in the first three games between the 2022 UL Central and UL West champions.

The start of the 2022 SIMBL LDs have begun.

Dallas GM Robert Don's Dallas Texans took Game One from Whitby GM John Callahan's Battalion 3-1 as Texans SP Tom Clifton, fresh off the disabled list, was masterful in shutting down the hard-hitting UL East Champions.

Hollywood GM Rodney Baylor's Bounty Hunters stunned the Hustlers of GM Carl Hannah in Game One of the SLDS with a walk-off win in the bottom of the 9th inning with two-runs as the Hustlers' usual solid stud closer Blair Singleton walked home the Hunters' dangerous slugger Layne Hamilton for the comeback win.

2022 SIMBL PLAYOFF FIELD SET

It's Battalion vs. Texans, Clippers vs. Bandits, Revolution vs. Warewolves & Hustlers vs. Bounty Hunters In 2022 SIMBL LDS

The 2022 SIMBL regular season ended with an exciting finish and it's again down to eight teams for the ever-elusive SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship.

GM John Callahan's Whitby Battalion win the first division title in franchise history and take the UL East.  It's Callahan's first SIMBL postseason appearance and the second in franchise history and their first since the 2012 season.

The Battalion will face GM Robert Don's defending UL Champion Dallas Texans in the 2022 ULDS.  The Texans win the UL wildcard for the second consecutive season and make the fourth postseason appearance in franchise history.  Dallas also topped the 100-win mark for the first time in franchise history.

The Calgary Clippers of GM Christian DeMarco win their sixth straight UL Central division title and the 15th in franchise history and make the postseason for the 16th time in 18 SIMBL seasons.  The 'Clips top the 100-win mark for the fifth consecutive season.

The Clippers will face the Bend Bandits of GM Ted Williams in the 2022 ULDS.  The Bandits win their third division title in franchise history and make their sixth overall appearance in the SIMBL playoffs.  Bend is in for the third time in the past four seasons and win their first division title since the 2017 season.

Boston GM Dennis Walters' Revolution held off GM Jamey Carter's Rochester Roosters to defend their SL East division title for their second straight divisional crown.  The Revolution win the second division title in franchise history and make the third postseason appearance in franchise history.

It will be a rematch of last season's classic seven-game SLCS with San Diego GM Paul Ware's defending SIMBL Champion Warewolves facing Boston in the 2022 SLDS.  The 'Wolves win their 17th UL West crown in 18 SIMBL seasons and appear in the postseason for the 18th consecutive time.

GM Carl Hannah wins his second SIMBL division title as his Hustlers make their first playoff appearance since the 2016 SIMBL season and win the seventh division title in franchise history and make their seventh overall appearance in the SIMBL playoffs.

Las Vegas will face GM Rodney Baylor's Hollywood Bounty Hunters who win their second consecutive SL wildcard berth and make the SIMBL postseason for the third straight season.  The Hunters make the seventh overall postseason appearance in franchise history.

The Astoria Goonies, Montreal Expos and Augusta Spartans sit home this season after making last year's postseason.

Chicago Hitmen GM John Bowden will have the #1 pick in the upcoming 2023 SIMBL Draft with Sacramento Giants GM Jason Gregory picking second and Toronto Rush GM Eric Savard at #3.

Congratulations to all SIMBL GMs on yet another successful and fun SIMBL regular season and good luck to all remaining playoff GMs in their quest for the 2022 SIMBL ring.

WHITBY CLINCHES FIRST DIVISION TITLE IN FRANCHISE HISTORY; LOCK UP UL #2 SEED

Surging Battalion Make First SIMBL Postseason Appearance In A Decade Of Play

Whitby starting pitcher Ryan Thomas (above) is doused with the bubbly after the Battalion of GM John Callahan clinched the UL East in 2022 SIM 25.  It's the first division title in the franchise's 18-season history and they make only the second postseason appearance in franchise history going back to the 2012 season.  The Battalion locked up the Union League's #2 playoff seed and will likely face the Dallas Texans in the 2022 ULDS first round.

In 2022 SIM 25, the Whitby Battalion of GM John Callahan have clinched the first division title in franchise history and make their first postseason appearance since the 2012 season when they were a wildcard as the former Hartford Whalers.  The Battalion make their second overall postseason appearance and dethrone the Montreal Expos of GM Kevin Norris as UL East champions.

With 7 games and 1 SIM to go in the 2022 SIMBL regular season, the Calgary Clippers of GM Christian DeMarco have a magic number of one to clinch their sixth consecutive UL Central title and 15th division title in 18 seasons.

Dallas GM Robert Don's Texans top the 100-win mark for the first time in franchise history and will make the postseason for the fourth time in franchise history and for the second consecutive season after at least clinching a UL wildcard berth.

GM Ted Williams' Bend Bandits have a magic number of one to clinch their first division title since 2017 and to make their third playoff appearance in the past four seasons.

Rochester GM Jamey Carter's Roosters have overtaken the SL East lead by one game over the SL East defending champion Boston Revolution of GM Dennis Walters with seven games to play.

The Asheville Smokies of GM Pete McGowan hold a slim two-game lead over the Las Vegas Hustlers of GM Carl Hannah in the SL Central with seven games to go.

San Diego GM Paul Ware's Warewolves clinched their 17th overall SL West division title in the SIMBL's 18 seasons of play in 2022 SIM 24.

GM Rodney Baylor's Hollywood Bounty Hunters hold a four-game lead over Las Vegas and Boston and a seven-game lead over Hawaii GM John McGuinness' Pineapples for the SL wildcard berth.

Good luck to all remaining contending GMs as we head into the final regular season SIM of the 2022 SIMBL regular season.
