The 28-year-old Omaha Royals right fielder nabbed Knapp League Player of the Week honors today after beating up on opposing pitchers all last week. Gaines's hot streak featured 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs, 7 runs scored and a .444 average. Presently Gaines is hitting .250 with 6 home runs and 23 RBIs.
