Hit Streak Now at 20 for Hamada Sunday, October 5th , 2064 With 2 hits at Michigan Stadium today, Kitahachi Hamada added another game to his hitting streak -- the Ann Arbor third baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Wolverines today, as they fell, 15-7, to the Texas Roadrunners. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Texas manager Jeff Palin said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Kitahachi Hamada grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. In the current season, Hamada has put up a .310 batting average with 194 hits, 9 home runs, 56 runs batted in and scored 73 runs. |
