Pioneers Come up Short of Playoffs Monday, September 29th , 2064 It wasn't meant to be for the Oregon Pioneers this year. Despite a tough battle, they were eliminated from playoff contention today. "It is a bad feeling," said Pioneers starting pitcher Bobby Yarina. "Once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen. But you've gotta get in there first, and we weren't able to do that." Oregon last appeared in the postseason in 2057. This is their 7th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 33 times in their 46 - year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Pioneers have made the playoffs 3 times. |
