Asheville 2040 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series Champions Sunday, October 28th, 2040 It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Asheville Smokies, that meant the SIM Baseball League SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series trophy. The Smokies took a 4-1 victory over the New York Enforcers at Enforcers Field, winning their 2nd championship after taking the series 4-2. "We've got grit," said Smokies starting pitcher Kit Newell, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."
