At Canford Park today, Yates showed how well he learned that lesson. The 26-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Boston Patriots, helping his team knock off the Miami Sharks by a score of 19-10. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Tynan Yates doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
