Oregon First Baseman Nets UL Award Monday, July 7th, 2042 At the age of 28, Akato Sakata might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Oregon first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .542 batting average. For his efforts Sakata collected the Union League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 13 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 6 games. To date Sakata has chalked up a .350 average with 21 home runs, driven in 68 runs and scored 47 times. |
