Pioneers Blank Bend, Branch Winner
Wednesday, October 1st, 2053
William Branch was in a mood to talk following the Oregon Pioneers contest against the Bend Bandits, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Bandits, 6-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Branch said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Bend on a 7-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 9 strikeouts.
This year Branch has registered 14 wins and 10 losses in 28 starts with a 3.32 ERA while registering 213 strikeouts and 58 walks in 233.1 innings.
