They failed to score a single run against him, losing 7-0. New York managed only 9 hits off O'Connor, who had 2 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular O'Connor got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd.
