Rivera Shows Off, Hits for Cycle Tuesday, September 25th, 2040 Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Pambo Rivera's day was a special one. The center fielder hit for the cycle to spark the Asheville Smokies to a 10-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Silverbacks at Blue Ridge Stadium today. Asheville manager Pete McGowan said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Rivera in particular. "Pambo caught me by surprise today," he said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it." For the day, Rivera finished with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits. Pambo Rivera hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ugo Del Costello in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
