Kane Stops Boston Cold
Wednesday, June 21st, 2051
Gavin Kane kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Cleveland Brownies were all smiles after winning 5-0 against the Boston Patriots at Canford Park today. The left-handed Kane gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits and had 5 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Kane said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
Kane has fashioned a 9-4 mark for the season, 2.07 ERA and thrown 126.1 innings in 16 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .239 against him.
