Star of the Week Named in UL Monday, September 3rd, 2040 25-year-old Tony Diaz sent shock waves through SIM Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Union League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Diaz made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a 1.000 average, 6 hits in 6 at-bats, 1 home run and 4 RBI. Where the Cleveland Brownies first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Diaz certainly made his mark last week. So far this year Diaz has 15 home runs and a .257 batting average. |
