Batista Spins Shutout Against Ann Arbor Saturday, May 6th, 2051 The Ann Arbor Wolverines had no answer today for Bend Bandits pitcher Eddie Batista. They failed to score a single run against him, losing 5-0. Ann Arbor managed only 8 hits off Batista, who had 13 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Batista got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Bandits fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
