Smokies Hurler Ito Tosses Masterpiece Sunday, July 28th, 2041 Fans at Jack Daniels Field witnessed the Asheville Smokies blank the Knoxville Lumberkings, 9-0 behind a superb effort by starter Takuma Ito. The Asheville left-hander allowed 3 hits in recording the shutout. "Takuma was good today but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," Asheville manager Pete McGowan said later. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
