Toronto, Austin Trade Players Monday, July 15th, 2041 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Toronto Rush and Austin Dark Horses finalized a trade today. Toronto will send 25-year-old minor league 2B Matt Blair and 23-year-old minor league RHP Jack Bennett to the Dark Horses, while the Rush will receive 26-year-old RHP Ricardo Martinez, 24-year-old C Ryan Austin and 26-year-old RF Bryant Clark. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Rush general manager Eric Savard said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. In his 47-game career Martinez has been credited with 4 wins, 3 losses and 3 saves. His ERA stands at 4.40, and he has fired third strikes past 79 batters in 77.2 innings while giving up 19 walks. |
