Bandits Snap Garcia's Streak at 21 Thursday, May 7th , 2065 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 21-game hitting streak, San Diego shortstop Jesus Garcia went hitless in 4 at-bats today at Deschutes Field. The sudden hitting drought came as the Warewolves took the 7-2 win over the Bend Bandits. "Nope, it's not magic," Garcia said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." This season Garcia is batting .383 with 44 hits, 1 home run, 10 RBIs, 14 walks, .450 OBP and has scored 23 runs. He has played in 29 games. |
