Grant Latest HOF Legend Monday, May 4th , 2065 There is a new statue in the SIM Baseball League Hall of Fame. It belongs Harlan Grant. The star pitcher was inducted this past weekend. All it took to get there was 217 wins. "I always dreamed of being a SIM Baseball League player, but I never dreamed of being in the Hall of Fame," Grant said, "I could have never envisioned myself standing next to my childhood idols and yet here I am. And to the Hall of Famers sitting behind me, I am truly humbled and in awe of standing here in front of you." In his career, former first round draft pick Harlan Grant posted a record of 217-173 and fanned 2735 batters in 3459 innings with a 3.82 ERA. At times Harlan Grant fought back tears as he thanked his family and close friends for sticking by him when he had to overcome some difficult personal problems. Summing up his years on the diamond, Grant offered a hopeful message to the large induction crowd. "I care for this game with my heart and soul. I dedicated my life to being the best pitcher I could be. You leave me humbled and grateful for this honor. I'd like to leave an offering of a message of hope. That is, with the grace of God, you can change your life, whoever you are." |
