Roadrunners Deal Bandits 3-1 Loss
|
Texas starter Mario Rojas put a stranglehold on the Bend offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Roadrunners to a 3-1 win. In 8.2 innings, Rojas surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Texas leads the Union League Central by 8 games.
Texas used the timely hitting of Dave Coaker to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Roadrunners on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Rojas said.
