Bend Tops St. Petersburg Again, 5-2
|
The Bend Bandits got a strong performance from pitcher Daniel Lewis, who stymied the visiting St. Petersburg Admirals en route to a win, 5-2, in Game 2 of the SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series today. The Admirals could never get a bead on the left-handed Lewis, who threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The Bandits now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
Luke McAlister dealt the Admirals a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Bend trailing 1-0, McAlister, who finished 2nd in the UL in batting average with .331 in 2064, hit a 1-2 slider for a 2-run double.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Lewis said.
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 28th , 2064 at Skull Rock Stadium.
