Bandits Surge Past Admirals to Take 1-0 Series Lead
The Bend Bandits powered past the visiting St. Petersburg Admirals, 9-8, in the opener of the SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series at Deschutes Field today. St. Petersburg third baseman Nathan Armbruster hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the losing squad. The Bandits now lead the series 1-0.

The Bandits were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Russell Vincent turned a 1-0 slider from Todd Rogers into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double electrified the Deschutes Field denizens and sent the Bandits home with a thrilling 9-8 win.

"This place was electric at the end," Vincent said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Deschutes Field in Bend.
