Sandoval Blasts Clippers, Wolverines Take Game 1, 12-10
The Ann Arbor Wolverines defeated the Calgary Clippers, 12-10 in Game 1 of the League Championship Series today. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Alejandro Sandoval, who went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win moves Ann Arbor into a 1-0 lead in the series.

The most crucial at-bat for Ann Arbor came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Sandoval stroked a 2-0 fastball to left for a grand slam home run, putting Ann Arbor up, 12-10.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Sandoval said. "We did a good job of that today."
