Home Loss Shrinks Patriots' Series Lead to 3-2
|
The Texas Roadrunners have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Boston Patriots, winning 6-5 at Revolution Field today. Roadrunners first baseman Jose Martinez went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The win cuts the deficit facing the Roadrunners to 3-2 in the best-of-7 League Divisional Series.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the eighth, with the game tied, Gerard Harvey was at the plate when Texas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Roadrunners to go in front, 6-5.
Patriots manager JD Schloss did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series."
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 11th , 2061 at Lone Star Ballpark in Houston.
