Escobar Handcuffs Owls, Roadrunners Seize 1-0 Advantage in LCS
Julian Escobar and the Texas Roadrunners opened the League Championship Series in brilliant fashion today, shutting out the visiting Bristol Owls at Lone Star Ballpark 5-0 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Escobar, the Roadrunners left-hander, threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball.

Escobar tossed 107 pitches over 7.1 innings to clinch the win for the Roadrunners. The left-hander allowed just 2 hits, while racking up 11 strikeouts in the game.

"It's always fun to see the other guys getting frustrated, but the series isn't over and we've got to make sure to keep them on their heels," Texas manager Jeff Palin said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lone Star Ballpark in Houston.
