| Brownies Even With Mavericks After Extra-Innings Win | The Cleveland Brownies went the distance and then some at The Ranch today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Montreal Mavericks.
It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the League Divisional Series, but Cleveland eventually took the 4-3 win despite the performance of Montreal starting pitcher and player of the game David Perez, who threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-7 series.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Cory Browning to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Brownies on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Feels good to get the job done," Browning said after the game.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday, October 5th, 2048 at Dawg Pound Park. Slated to start are Christopher Laux for the Montreal Mavericks and Ricky Stanley for the the Cleveland Brownies.
