Indianapolis picked up a win at Cobb Field, bumping off the Hawaii Pineapples, 3-1. Pitcher David Serrano was a major reason the Rams emerged victorious. Serrano got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Serrano allowed 1 run. Jay Taylor got credit for the save for Indianapolis. It was his 3rd of the year.
Indianapolis took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, designated hitter Aaron Gryka hit a 2-run home run that fired up the crowd.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Indianapolis manager Bryan Gryka. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Indianapolis, with the win, is 5-2.
