Hustlers Dealt 5-2 Loss by River City
|
River City and Las Vegas duked it out and the Rascals came out victorious.
The River City Rascals racked up a win at Battlefield Park, bumping off the Las Vegas Hustlers, 5-2. Boddie Montgomery, who started for River City, pitched effectively for his team. In 8.1 innings, Montgomery surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Allen Miller earned save number 2 this season.
Jimmy Cusick went 1 for 4 for River City. The 33-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Justin Wright. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Montgomery told the River City Daily News.
The win puts River City at 3-3.
