Ann Arbor picked up a win at Michigan Stadium, bumping off the Sacramento Giants, 3-2. Pitcher Scott Knowlton was a major reason the Wolverines emerged victorious. Knowlton went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 4, and struck out 2. His record improves to 7-2. With the win, Ann Arbor raised its record to 30-28.

In the bottom of the ninth, Xavier Palacios had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring walk to center off Sacramento pitcher Mark Long.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Knowlton said.
