The Chicago Hitmen took Miami pitcher Carson Barrett's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Revolution Field. The final score had Chicago getting past the Sharks, 3-2. Barrett went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 7. Pablo Ventura sewed up the save, his 14th. The win for the Hitmen raised their record to 31-23.

Michael Ayers had the most critical at-bat for Chicago. With one in the top of the ninth inning, Ayers hit a 1-0 fastball from Rod Ellis for a solo home run. It put Chicago in front, 3-2.

"Every loss stings," said Miami manager AJ Woolley. "This one is no exception."
