Gryka Powers Rams to 7-3 Win
|
Behind the hitting of Aaron Gryka, the Indianapolis Rams stopped the River City Rascals, 7-3. Gryka went 4-4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Rams. Indianapolis starter Early Finau was credited with the win after throwing 137 pitches over 8.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-5. Francisco Esquivel was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.
Indianapolis grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Gryka, who is tied for 9th in the SL with a .916 OPS, hit a bases-clearing triple. His 2nd triple of the season put the Rams out in front, 4-1.
Gryka called the win "a team effort."
With the victory, the Rams upped their record to 26-26.
