Helms Now 6-3 After Subduing Pioneers
|
Miami rode a good effort from starter Jett Helms to beat the Oregon Pioneers at Revolution Field. The final score was 2-1. Rod Ellis sewed up the save, his 16th. Miami goes to 32-16. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
Helms was in the zone all game. He frustrated Oregon hitters while giving the Sharks 8 innings of quality work. Helms threw 102 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 8 punchouts.
"Jett did a tremendous job," said Miami manager AJ Woolley.
