The Indianapolis Rams weathered an outstanding game by Chicago center fielder Michael Ayers to topple the Hitmen, 8-7. Ayers was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Indianapolis reliever Francisco Esquivel picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Pablo Ventura absorbed the loss. Indianapolis raised its record to 23-23 with the win.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Indianapolis trailing 7-5, Aaron Gryka hit a fastball from Pablo Ventura for a 3-run home run, giving the Rams the walk-off win.

"This place was jumping at the end," Gryka said.
