Reid, Brownies Too Much for Rush
|
The Cleveland Brownies defeated the Toronto Rush, 7-6, at Toronto Ballpark Center today. Leading the charge for Cleveland was right fielder Cliff Reid. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Ivan Alvarez, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Cristobal Medina earned the save, his 6th.
Reid had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Connor McPharland, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Brownies a 7-6 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Reid.
"Winning never gets dull," said Reid.
The Brownies go to 15-25 with the win.
