Roadrunners Get Past Cleveland for 6-5 Win
|
The Cleveland Brownies got a superb performance from third baseman Michael Quinn. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Texas. The Roadrunners won the game, 6-5. Quinn was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Sidney Tolbert got the save, the 8th for him this season. With the victory, the Roadrunners upped their record to 25-11.
Texas used the timely hitting of Sixto Hernandez to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Roadrunners on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort," said Hernandez after the game.
