Lumberkings Drop Bandits, 2-1

The Knoxville Lumberkings and Bend Bandits put on a pitchers' duel.
The Bend Bandits got a superb performance from pitcher Patrick Harrington, but the Knoxville Lumberkings still won the game, 2-1. Harrington threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Picking up the win was Steffen Kerr. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. Bryan Malone earned the save for Knoxville, his 7th of the year.
The Bandits had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Lumberkings going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the four-time All-Star Bobby Herman came to the plate. Herman hit a run-scoring double on a 2-2 changeup from Bend hurler Patrick Harrington. It was Herman's 10th double of the year.
Herman told a Knoxville Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Bandits fall to 14-18 and continue their uneven start to the 2065 season.
