Sharks Lose to Admirals, 3-2
The St. Petersburg Admirals did just enough to secure a victory over the Miami Sharks, 3-2, at Skull Rock Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Carlos De La Cruz. De La Cruz went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-2. The Admirals, now 19-8, have played some good baseball in the early going.

St. Petersburg took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a big hit from Jamie Law. On a 1-2 fastball from Jett Helms, Law hit a run-scoring double. That made it 2-1, Admirals. For the day, Law was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs.

"We were in it," said Miami manager AJ Woolley. "We just didn't score enough runs."
