Smokies Lose to Enforcers, 9-5
|
The New York Enforcers stopped the Asheville Smokies, 9-5, at Enforcers Field. The Enforcers got a big game from Clayton Swanson, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Kevin Walters locked down his 1st save. Asheville, at 7-17, is off to a poor start in 2065.
With New York leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Swanson hit a fastball from Shumei Kouda for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Enforcers ahead, 3-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Enforcers manager Chris Gattuso. "We came out swinging the bats."
