Sharks Beat Boston, 6-5
|
No one was more impactful than Emelio Renteria in the 6-5 Miami win over Boston. Renteria, who finished 4th in the UL in slugging percentage with .556 in 2062, went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. Miami reliever Sean Davis picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Greg Henderson shouldered the loss. Miami goes to 2-1 with the win.
Rickey Coleman was the walk-off hero for Miami. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sharks right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was our day today," Renteria told the Miami Observer. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
