Calgary Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Sacramento starter David Williams put a stranglehold on the Calgary offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Giants to a 3-0 win. In 8 innings, Williams surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Mark Long earned the save for Sacramento, his 5th.
Nelson Zamora broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the sixth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Giants in front, 1-0. For the game, Zamora was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Sacramento manager Jason Gregory.
The loss makes Calgary 12-8.
