Rush Shut Out Patriots, 7-0
|
Toronto Rush starter Jonathan Cameron was in fine form against the Boston Patriots at Toronto Ballpark Center, leading his team to a win, 7-0. Cameron, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Toronto, now 11-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Rush got an important contribution from third baseman Andre Kidwell, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 1-1 slider into left-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Rush ahead, 7-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Cameron told the Toronto Herald.
