The performance of Garrett Helms proved critical in helping Texas beat Bend, 8-6. The Roadrunners third baseman was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Texas reliever Christian Salinas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Doug Craig took the loss. Sidney Tolbert was credited with the save for Texas, his 4th of the season.

Steve Carver hit a run-scoring double off Doug Craig in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Roadrunners in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Carver had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Texas manager Jeff Palin.

The victory makes Texas 12-6.
