The New York Enforcers took Miami pitcher Carson Barrett's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Enforcers Field. The final score had New York getting past the Sharks, 2-1. Barrett went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Alex Thompson, the winning pitcher, is now 16-10. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 10 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 4. Ron Prado converted his 32nd save in 43 tries.
In the bottom of the fifth, New York shortstop Nathan Sproston had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and one out, Sproston stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, New York. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We take it day by day here," said Sproston, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win, the Enforcers hiked their record to 85-77.
