Bend and Texas duked it out and the Bandits came out victorious.
The Bend Bandits trumped the Texas Roadrunners, 5-2, at Lone Star Ballpark. Bend left fielder Keitaro Sakai was terrific. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Pedro Rosario recorded the save, his 5th.
Sakai had a critical at-bat in the top of the eighth for Bend, coming through with a run-scoring double to put Bend in front, 3-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Sakai said.
The loss makes Texas 11-5.
