Mavericks Beat New York, 6-5

Behind a fine performance from Jack Riley, the Montreal Mavericks knocked off the New York Enforcers, 6-5. Riley went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs for the Mavericks. Kenyon Brookins picked up the win, improving his season record to 11-14. He struck out 2 in 7 innings. Dave Henry was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 26 save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Montreal, had it not been for Danny Callahan, the 32-year old right fielder . Callahan contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Montreal up, 6-4.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Riley said.
Their 70-86 record puts the Mavericks third in the Union League East.
