Indianapolis second baseman Charlie Holcomb helped his team beat the San Diego Warewolves, 7-3. Holcomb, who is on pace for 70 RBI this season, went 2 for 3 for the Rams. The winning pitcher was Ken Williams. He's now 10-8. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits for the Rams. The win gives Indianapolis a season record of 76-55.

There was more than one reason the Rams beat the Warewolves, but Holcomb's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-3 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Indianapolis manager Bryan Gryka.
