Rascals Take Down Giants, 3-2
|
The River City Rascals faced a tough opponent in Sacramento pitcher Auggie Busmalis, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Battlefield Park by a final score of 3-2. Busmalis went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Chris Herrera came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 11-8. River City currently is in second place in the Syndicate League Central at 64-67.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when River City center fielder Hollis Davis, facing Mark Long, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Rascals the 3-2 win.
Davis described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
