The Chicago Hitmen beat the Sacramento Giants, 9-4, at Wrigleyville Stadium. Chicago center fielder Michael Ayers had an outstanding performance. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Giants, now 4-9, continue their inauspicious start.

Chicago took the lead in the bottom of the fourth on a big hit from Van Brock. On a 2-2 cutter from Auggie Busmalis, Brock hit a run-scoring single. That made it 5-4, Hitmen. For the day, Brock was 2 for 5 with 2 singles.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Brock.
