Sharks Win Thriller, 5-1
|
The Miami Sharks picked up a win at Revolution Field, knocking off the Calgary Clippers, 5-1. Starting pitcher Jett Helms played a key role in the triumph. The Union League East-leading Sharks have a record of 63-40.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Miami catcher Leonard Miller, facing Kenny Casey, had a grand slam home run. It gave the Sharks the 5-1 win.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Sharks manager AJ Woolley, "I like our chances."
