Warewolves Snag 5-2 Win
|
Kevin Carlton impressed in the 5-2 San Diego win over Sacramento. Carlton, who is a three-time All-Star, went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Brad Schultz picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 12-8. Cristobal Medina got the save, his 29th in 32 chances.
Carlton delivered in the bottom of the eighth inning for San Diego. With the game tied and a runner on 1st, the right fielder hit a run-scoring double to left.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Carlton told the San Diego Daily News.
San Diego occupies first place in the Syndicate League West at 46-47.
